Materials license
You’re welcome to use, share, and adapt my original university materials for non-commercial purposes. Give credit, and keep shared adaptations under the same license.
Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0
My original contributions to the cheatsheets, Anki decks, and accompanying source files in the university materials section are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), unless a particular material states otherwise.
What you can do
Download, print, copy, and share the materials. You can also correct, translate, remix, or build on them for non-commercial purposes.
What you need to do
- Give credit. Credit Joel Dickey, link to the original material and the license, retain supplied attribution notices, and indicate changes. Don’t imply that I endorse your version.
- Keep it non-commercial. Your use must not be primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation.
- Share alike. Keep the license with copies you share. When you share an adaptation, license your contributions under the same license in accordance with its ShareAlike terms.
- Keep the permissions intact. Don’t impose extra legal restrictions or digital locks that prevent recipients from exercising the rights the license grants.
Shared versions keep the same freedoms
ShareAlike applies when you share an adapted version. It does not require you to publish private edits, upload your files, or release editable source files. Sharing your improvements and source files is welcome.
What this license covers
This license covers only the rights I hold in my original contributions. University course content, quoted text, third-party images and diagrams, and other material owned by others are not licensed by me. Their own terms and any applicable legal exceptions still apply. This page does not relicense the website’s code or template.
Accuracy and official terms
These are personal study materials, not official university publications. No guarantee is given as to their accuracy or completeness. Verify important information against the official course materials.
This page is a summary. The full CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 legal terms govern the license, including its exceptions and limitations. Uses already permitted by law do not require permission under this license.
